The Rotary Club Lignano Sabbiadoro-Tagliamento was proud to welcome our member, cav. dr. Rym Bednarova, together with her husband, cav. dr. Luca Miceli, from the Rotary Club Pordenone, for a fireplace dedicated to chronic pain, well-being, and quality of life.
President Massimo Fantin introduced the evening, highlighting the value of a topic that concerns many people closely: dealing with pain while preserving autonomy, lucidity, and freedom of movement.
Starting from lower back pain, one of the most common manifestations of chronic pain, the speakers explained the contribution of physics to medicine through two non-invasive technologies: focal vibration therapy, which uses targeted microvibrations to modulate the perception of pain and support movement, and pulsed electromagnetic fields, used for rehabilitative and pain-relieving purposes.
An in-depth look at the possibilities of integrating therapeutic tools and, when clinically possible, reducing the pharmacological burden, keeping the person’s needs at the center.
Reflection has thus extended to active aging: preserving vitality, safeguarding psychological and physical well-being, and continuing to fully participate in daily life.
A heartfelt thank you to Rym and Luca for sharing their expertise and knowledge on a highly relevant topic, offering our Club a valuable opportunity for in-depth learning and Rotary friendship.
